OPHTHALMIC OPTICS COURSE

This course is intended for those who are already working as Opticians or doing optical work.

This course is for those who had already under taken Course No.1 or Ophthalmic Optics from this Institute or had taken such course from any other institute, school or college. The subjects covered in it are:

  2. Various types of Contact lenses
  3. Instruments used in C.L.fitting
  4. Fitting soft Contact lenses
  5. Fitting gas permeable contact lenses
  6. Fitting Contact lenses in special conditions like Keratoconus etc
  7. Various contact lens solutions, enzymes and other Contact lens accessories
  8. Cosmetic contact lenses
  9. Practical fitting

SPECTACLE DISPENSING & FITTING

The dispensing and fitting of lenses involves both Science and Art. This course has been designed with greater emphasis on practice. The subjects covered are: 

  1. Prism and its utility
  2. Lens and its formation
  3. Types and varieties of lenses
  4. Finding the Diopter power of lenses by Various methods.
  5. Marking the center and the axis on the lens
  6. To fit the lens according to the P.D.
  7. Cutting out the patterns according to the size of the rim of the frame and marking axis etc.
  8. Chipping and edging
  9. Lensometer and its operations
  10. Practice sessions

HEARING AID DISPENSING COURSE

Due to many reasons, a person starts feeling difficulty in HEARING. Treatment such people is mostly by fitting of a proper Hearing Aid. Training in fitting a proper Hearing aid related to different types of concerned diseases is provided in this course.

LENS SURFACING & GRINDING

The training in this course is only given to those who have some knowledge in the Optical line or have undertaken the full opticians or opthalmic optics course. Both theoretical and practical training is provided. The subjects covered are: 

  1. Surfacing and Grinding of different types of glass lenses
  2. The function of the machines used in surfacing.
  3. Description and application of spherical and cylindrical tools and other accessories
  4. Rough Blanks and their varieties
  5. Selection of a Blank for the required power to be prepared
